CFS2 LanphierV1: On April 18, 1943, at 7:25 A.M. two G4M2 bombers and six A6M2 Zero fighters met two P-38 fighters in combat off the coast of Bouganville in the Solomon Islands. The lead P-38 was flown by an American named Lanphier who was on a special mission from the Secretary of War to shoot down Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto(the mastermind of Pearl Harbor).
