In later years, Oakington was the home to M.E.T.S, the multiple engine training school, using firstly Vickers Varsity's, and later, BAe Jetstream T1's. Designed, and produced, with a little bit of artistic license, by Steve Anderson. 480K

RNAS Burscough/HMS Ringtail FS/98 Burscough is situated 2m NE of Ormskirk, Lancashire. The runways, I believe, still existed in 1968 as did some of the hangars. they may still exist today. RNAS Burscough was commissioned on September 1st 1943 as HMS Ringtail and was home to many Royal Navy Squadrons until May 1946 when it was closed to flying. 412K
