Takeoff
-
Check flight controls.
-
Check nose NOT dropped (0 degree flaps).
-
Smoothly increase thrust to maximum N1 (F3) while holding parking brake.
-
Release brakes (Period [.]).
-
Raise nose as the speed reaches 180 knots.
-
Smoothly adjust pitch attitude to about 10 degrees.
-
Check positive climb rate and retract gears (G).
Cruise
- Establish level flight.
- Set thrust to maintain about Mach 2.2.
-
Adjust elevator trim (NUMPAD 7 = nose down, NUMPAD 1 = nose up).
Descent
-
Reduce power to 30% N1 (F2).
-
Relax pressure on the controls and the aircraft will descend.
- To level off, ease back on stick and increase power to about 65% N1 (F3).
Approach
-
Establish level flight at 210 knots.
- Smoothly reduce speed to 190 knots while maintaining altitude.
- Turning toward runway, continue to reduce speed at 170 knots.
Landing
- When ready for final approach, check gear down (G).
- On final, set power at about 40% N1, airspeed at no lower than 160 knots and nose dropped (full flaps).
- Check arm spoilers (Shift-/).
- Over runway, hold the slight nose-up attitude. Reduce power to idle (F2).
- After touchdown, apply reverse thrust (F2).
- At 60 knots, cancel reverse thrust (F1) and switch to the brakes.
