Do you fly for Real? PPL-SEL no heli time as pilot in command
Aircraft
External View:Terrific camo-paint Blue tint windows And a very unique moving rotor, very nice effect!
Sounds: default
Panel Functionality: Michael Vader's Allouette panel, unique gauges. Only NDB for nav, does have comm. capability-85% Functionality
Ground Handling Fixed skids- hover taxi only
Where Tested: Meig's, Chicago area
Landing Characteristics & Speed on final approach:When speed is properly reduced during approach, slowing to a hover and landing is quite easy and has a very good feel. Rapid speed reduction can get a bit squirrely.Course' that applies to most FS chops'.
Takeoff Characteristics & approx Speed: She lifts off at 70-75% torque, and a nudge of forward stick, immediately return stick to neutral to maintain a hover prior to forward movement.
Other Remarks:Can have a tendency to yaw violently at lift off, look out for it and it's controllable.
An alternate air-file is available for easier flight.
Only If known:
Aircraft Fuel Capacity = 91
Stall characteristics: Typical FS characteristics, immed yaw, unrecoverable spin will follw if not immediately stopped. TO BE AVOIDED if continued flight is desired ;o)
1 Engine out performance: Cannot be simulated in FS choppers.
Handling:With an eye on the potntial yaw problem she handles very well.
Manual Take-off = I bet that most pilots will dynamite the throttle and blast off rather than lift off, hover and then move forward. It's easier with copters with a yaw tendency, but with an awareness of the yaw a more sedate t-o is possible.
Climb, Cruise= No untoward tendencies. 70% torque @ 1000' ASL= 100KTS IAS, @ 5000'
ASL = 94KTS IAS.
Bank =Although probably very aerobatic in reality, in FS watch the steep bank and rudder pressure, death spin is a possibility. This applies to all FS copters, not a criticism of this model.
Descent = Avoid rapid slowing, "twitchy"!!
Landing = Be aware of,and control the yaw or it's a wrestling match.
Reverse Thrust = N/A
Aerobatics = N/A
Roll = N/A
Loop = Good Luck ;o)
Easy to fly with Joystick = YES Joystick and rudder control required for FS helicopter flight
Autopilot= No, Maybe in FS2K
Notes: A great chopper. Looks good. Handles well (watch the yaw) The yaw factor, a lot of times, is a matter of how your joystick perameters are set. There will be a tutorial on this subject soon.
Rating = 90%
Other Remarks:Hover Ceiling 9415' ASL, Absolute Ceiling 17500 These figures probably have no relation to real figures. And your flight numbers may vary.
