KTUS - Tucson Arizona Intl. Airport For P3D
*************************************************
This is the ninth airport I designed for FSX that I have converted to work in P3D. There will be more to follow.

*****************************************************************************************************

AIRPORT FACTS
-------------

The Tucson airport opened in 1919 and was the first municipally owned airport in the United States. Commercial air service started in 1928 with Standard Airlines, which later became American Airlines. The airfield was used during World War II by the United States Army Air Corps.

The current airport covers an area of 8,244 acres and contains three runways.

In 2008 the East Concourse became Concourse A, comprising of Gates A1-A9. The West Concourse became Concourse B, comprising of Gates B1-B11. At this time the international arrival area was relocated to Concourse A, whereas before it existed as a seperate terminal.

The airport is served by the following airlines:

Alaska Airlines
American Airlines
Delta Airlines
Southwest Airlines
United Airlines
Sun Country Airlines (Seasonal)
Via Air
FedEx
DHL Aviation
Etihad Cargo

A LIST OF IMPROVEMENTS WHICH HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE AIRPORT
**********************************************************

Here are the improvements which have been made from the default version:

1. All jetways and scenery objects will display as long as scenery complexity in P3D is set at normal or higher.

2. All new terminal buildings have been created using FSDS by Abacus.

3. The vehicle network has been redesigned to prevent airport vehicles from entering the taxiways.

4. Optionally, all runways have been opened to be used by AI traffic.

5. Autogen objects have been prevented from displaying on the airport grounds.

6. The tower view has been changed to display from the roof of the control tower.

7. Extra fuel trucks have been added throughout the airport.

8. All gates are accurately portrayed. Two fictional gates have been added to allow for potential overflow traffic.

9. All taxiways are included and are accurately named, and taxiway signs are accurately placed.

10. The area for the 162nd Fighter Wing of the Arizona Air National Guard is portrayed.

11. The FedEx cargo area is also portrayed, and also includes parking for DHL Aviation and Etihad Cargo.

12. Ramp lights have been added in the airport terminal area. Thanks to Jim Dhaenens for these excellent lights.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
**************************

First of all, if you do not have my scenery for KMSN,KJAX,KMSY,KBUF,KBNA,KCLE,KORF, or KSRQ, and you do not have a folder within your main P3D folder entitled "Addon Scenery" (without the quotes) create one now.

Now, extract the "Addon Scenery" folder in this zip file to your main P3d folder (for example, C:\P3D). If you installed any of my other airports for P3D listed above, you may be prompted to overwrite some files. Go ahead and choose to overwrite, as it's possible some texture files may have changed.

Next you'll need to decide if you want AI traffic using more than one runway. The only disadvantage to this is that ATIS will call out the fake runways which were created in order to activate all of the runways for AI traffic as active runways.

If you DO want both runways active, extract the file in the "Crosswind" folder to P3D\Addon Scenery\KTUS\scenery.

If however you do NOT want both runways open to AI traffic, then extract the file in the "Non-Crosswind" folder to the same location (P3D\Addon Scenery\KTUS\scenery).

You can choose either file, but do not use both.

Finally, you will need to activate both the Addon Scenery area (if not already done), and the KTUS area in your P3D Scenery Library. Make sure that the KTUS area is below the Addon Scenery area in the library.

TO UNINSTALL
************

To uninstall this scenery, just deactivate or delete the KTUS area from within your P3D Scenery Library. Do not just delete the KTUS folder without first deleting it in the scenery library, as this can cause problems in your scenery.cfg file.

Credits:

ADE (Airport Design Editor) by Jon Masterson is an invaluable freeware utility for developing Afcads, designed for both FSX and FS9 use.

FSX Lights by Jim Dhaenens are an excellent set of apron lights which really help give an airport a finished look. Thanks to Jim for allowing designers to use his lights in our packages and to include his packages in our uploads.

Thanks also to Victor Nauta for permission to use his scenery objects.
