INSTALLATION

Unzip the file, copy "Hawker Tempest" to your CFS2 Aircraft directory.
Then, open "loadouts" and double click on InstFiles.exe.
This will install all the loadouts and gauges to their proper location.

DESCRIPTION
The aircraft is fully animated with control surfaces, gear, wheels, flaps, radiator shutter
(cowl flaps), cantilever shock absorbers, and a unique animation for canopy opening.....
It has breakable parts and a DVC.
It was made from scratch with Gmax.
The flyable aircraft is P.H. Clostermann's, whereas the AI is JFH flown by australian pilot
Bay Adams.

USE IN QUICK COMBAT AND/OR MISSIONS
The AI aircraft has a different model file and different textures.
To add it to your QC list, you must hand edit the qc_plane file
of your Quickcom directory and add the following lines:

[option.38]
OptionName=%Hawker TempestOption%
aircraft.0=Hawker Tempest.1
family_type.0=1
name.0=%Hawker TempestName%

Note that option numbers may change depending on your own list.

You must also add:

"Hawker TempestOption"=Hawker Tempest V JFH
"Hawker TempestName"=Hawker Tempest

To use the AI in missions, you must reference them as
Hawker Tempest.1

Another method is to use a QC edit program. Just add the Tempest with your program.
then, open the qc_plane file of your Quickcom directory and modify the lines so
that they are like the above.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I would not have produced these planes without
D.Griffiths tutorial on gauges, J.Beckwith's advices, K. Bedford
bmp conversion tools, and all the guys at freeflightdesign.com.
I used the 714th Virtual squadron method to tweak the air file.

Thanks also to Christer Landberg for his web site on the Tempest,visit
it at http://user.tninet.se/~ytm843e/tempest.htm, it is a must for
whoever is interested in aviation history.

Special thanks to Carl-Olof Sandberg, without whom the Tempest
would be mute.

And as ever, a special mention for Gregg Bond without whom things
would be a lot less fun.

VIRTUAL COCKPIT
Particular attention was paid to the virtal cockpit. It is pretty close to the real thing.
This gives a more realistic feel of flying at a similar frame rate. While in virtual cockpit,
you still can use your num keypad keys for quick snap views (faster than
the hat switch). On the left hand side, watch the undercarriage and
flap levers move as you raise your gear or extend your flaps.

WEAPONS AND LOADOUTS
You activate a pair of cannons with the gun trigger and the other pair
with the cannon trigger.
The Tempest has drop tanks but no rockets or bombs. Although it was
qualified for them, they were never used in war-time because they
completely spoiled the aerodynamics of the wings.

HOW TO FLY THEM

Tempest: poor maniability under 220 mph, the best in the sky above 250 mph
Climb rate 3000ft/min at 185 mph IAS

All the files but the sound file, the amp gauge (whose author I don't know), and some default
CFS/FS gauges were made by myself.This is a copyleft, it should remain free.
