MiG-21MF for FSX/Acceleration Beta Test README 08/12/2016 Update 08/17/2017 ============================================================================== This is the README to help you install the MiG-21MF for FSX Upgrade Beta. After installation you should read the README.txt file in the aircraft folder for the essential details about this version. To install this beta test software to your FSX: First, be sure you are running FSX Acceleration or Prepar3d version 3. The MiG-21MF will probably fly under FSX SP2, but it will not have any afterburners. If you have a previous version of this beta, delete it by deleting the "SimObjects\Airplanes\MIG-21MFN" folder. To install, drag the included folder to your SimObjects\Airplanes folder. Then drag the two files in the Effects folder inside the MiG-21MFN folder to your FSX Effects folder - but if you have installed a prior version of the Mig-21MF, you can skip this step, they are already there. You can install this alongside any previous version. The aircraft included with this one is a Libyan Air Force paint. If you had that livery installed in your previous version, you should probably comment it out of the previous aircraft.cfg to avoid confusion over which airplane you are selecting. It might be best to remove any previous "MiG-21 MF" folder, to be sure you are testing the correct aircraft. But that's up to you. Optional Software ----------------- If you would like to use the provided KLN90B for GPS navigation in the MiG, run the KLN90B-FSX-P3D.exe setup provided in the KLN90B folder that's located in the MIG-21MFN folder. This will install the gauge in your system. It has been tested in FSX and P3D version 3. You access the KLN90B using SHIFT-6 in the MiG-21MF. Full documentation is located in the Manuals folder inside the aircraft folder MIG-21MFN. You can install and use the standard FS GPS instead of the KLN90B but the MiG-21 will not follow a flight plan from it in GPS mode. It will follow the KLN90B. No installation instructions are provided to replace the KLN90B with the Garmin units, you are on your own if you want to do that.
