KXWA Williston Basin International Airport (Williston, ND) - for FSX , FSX:SE, (and possibly P3D as well) by Matt Lock December 2019 ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// From Wikipedia : Williston Basin International Airport (IATA: XWA, ICAO: KXWA, FAA LID: XWA) is an airport serving Williston, a city in the U.S. state of North Dakota. It is located roughly 10 miles (16 km) northwest of the city. Williston Basin Airport has one runway and a 110,000-square-foot (10,000 m2) terminal building. It was built to replace Sloulin Field International Airport, which previously served Williston and had experienced difficulty dealing with the increase in air traffic to Williston amid the North Dakota oil boom. The airport opened to the public on October 10, 2019.[2] This is an attempt to bring KXWA into the flightsim world for the first time. The airport has been hand constructed and placed according to satellite data, meaning that it is perfectly lined up with the real airport. I have also included an optional photoscenery file (KXWA_Photoreal.bgl) with both day and night textures which cover the airport and surrounding areas. Should you decide to use photoscenery, the textures will work automatically depending on the time of day. Disclaimer: This is not a professional-level product nor have I included any custom models. All building models are part of the default libraries in an attempt to make the airport as simple and compatible as possible with all sorts of systems. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// INSTALLATION: 1) Download and extract KXWA_2019.zip. Inside you should find two folders - 'scenery' and 'texture'. 2) Decide whether you want to include photoscenery in your installation. If so, you can move onto the next step. If not, simply either delete the "KXWA_Photoreal.bgl" or move it out of 'scenery' and into another external folder of your choice. Though the photoscenery file will not affect framerates at all, the airport will work with or without the photoscenery file. 3a) Recommended - Add KXWA_2019 into your sim library either through the in-game scenery menu or through a third party scenery config program (SceneryConfigEditor is a personal favourite). Ensure that the airport is located above any landclass or ground scenery files. OR 3b) Copy both the 'scenery' and 'texture' folders directly into your main .../AddonScenery folder. Not recommended as it may cause conflicts with other scenery depending on your setup. 4) Load up your sim - you're ready to fly! ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// FEATURES: Properly aligned runway, taxiways and aprons perfect for flying online Correct ILS for Runway 32 VOR on airport grounds as in real life Correct designation of taxiways with appropriate taxi signs 4 gates as well as GA Apron Accurate-to-size passenger terminal & hangars Apron lighting Night and day photoreal textures from early 2019 Custom waterclass meaning that bodies of water use native sim water Autogen exclusion around airport /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// INCLUDED FILES: KXWA_2019/scenery KXWA_Airport.bgl - Airport AFCAD and Scenery.
