This is an update of the Vought F-7U Cutlass by RanchoJEN and updated by Michael Pook.  I have updated the flight dynamics; added the second nose wheel and adjusted the contact points.  I added a HUD and changed or added some other gauges to the panel; added a launch assist section, so you can use the catapult; changed the afterburner and smoke effects, they only worked for me with the I key, now the afterburners are automatic with the throttle.  The VC only has static gauges. This is the whole aircraft.

Unzip to a folder of your choice.  Copy the aircraft to the FS airplanes folder.  Copy the gauges to the FS gauges folder and the effects to the FS effects folder, no need to overwrite anything already there.  If you already have the aircraft you have a choice to delete it and then do the above, or rename the air and aircraft.cfg files to old.air and old.cfg files and the panel folder to oldpanel; then copy the panel and the air and aircraft.cfg files from the update to your aircraft.  If you have added paints to the aircraft: You can delete the paint section from the update, then copy the paint sections from your old aircraft.cfg file to the new aircraft.cfg file.

You can run the engines up to full throttle before launching with the catapult.  I guess there is not enough thrust to overpower the restraints.  When approaching the carrier, keep the speed up enough so that you are touching down at 120 knots or above.

The HUD overflows the space for it a bit, but it was too small if brought down to the window for it.  If you don't want it, just go into the panel.cfg file and // remark it out.

Rember, at or just below the stall speeds, the aircraft is falling not flying; so it is best to touch down 10 or more knots above stall speed.
