This is an update for FSX of the SGA DC-9-30. I found that all the base models had the positive and negative g-limits at the end of the [airplane_geometry] section of the aircraft.cfg file set to 0. This caused the aircraft to crash on loading as everything in the sim has at least 1 g of force on it most of the time. After correcting that, I corrected the contact points; fixed the problem with the engines not running or shutting down when the aircraft loaded; I always start with them running, because of doing the updates. For every update, I reload the aircraft dozens of times. I updated the flight dynamics; and added some gauges to the panels.

Unzip to a folder of your choice. Copy the aircraft and the SCA DC9 Base folders to the airplanes folder. Copy the effect to the main FS effects folder, no need to overwirite anything already there. The panel is in the Base folder, so you need the new base folder to have my changes to the panel. The fuel gauge is still there, under views instrument panel.

NOTE: If you already have the Base file folder in your airplanes folder; rename it, BEFORE YOU COPY THE ONE WITH THIS UPDATE TO THE AIRPLANES FOLDER. If you already have the aircraft in your airplanes folder; RENAME ITS AIR AND AIRCRAFT.CFG FILES TO OLD OR SOMETHING, then copy just the air and aircraft.cfg files from this update to the aircraft. You can then use the old aircraft.cfg file to add the sections the new file does not have, so you can still have all your paints. You may also have to copy any textures you don't have from the updated aircraft to your aircraft.

Look for the aircraft under SGA on the choose the aircraft screen.

The hud for the VC toggles with the compass icon witch is in the top left corner of the autopilot course window. It would not show anywhere else I tried. The compass icon on the 2D panel is there in case the hud in the window for the VC is on if you switch to the 2D panel.

The base aircraft did not come with the smoke effects that were in the aircraft.cfg file, so I changed them to one I had.

[Reference Speeds]
flaps_up_stall_speed=132.00
full_flaps_stall_speed=105.60
cruise_speed=430.0 //knots over the ground at 35,000 ft. (255 indicated)
max_indicated_speed=541.00
max_mach=0.84 //535 knots over the ground at 10,000 ft. (498 indicated)

To get you in the ball park: On take off add some up-trim, and rotate between 120 and 140 knots. For landing, approach at 130 to 140 indicated until short final. Shoot for touch down at 115 to 120 knots. Most times you will need to have some throttle on, and maybe as much as 50% N1 to keep the speed up on approach. This is for reference, you don't have to do it this way if something else works for you.

Anyone: You have my permission to use any of my updates with the following conditions: One, you don't try to make money with them. Two, you don't try to hurt, or take something from anyone by using them.
