This is an update for FSX of the Super Constellation by Mike Stone. It has been about 14 years since I updated it. I went over everything, and updated the flight dynamics. I changed and or added gauges to the panel, like the HUD that can be used or not as it is in a window. I believe this aircraft was originally made for FS2002 but everything works. No VC. Unzip to a folder of your choice. Copy the aircraft to the main FS airplanes folder. Even if you have the original aircraft there should be no conflick about 2 aircraft that are the same. But you may have to check the show all aircraft box to see this one. The real connie could back up by reversing the props; I actually saw it done once. But I can not think of any other piston engine aircraft that can do that; even if there is, Microsoft chose to make the sim not recognize reverse props for piston engine aircraft. This aircraft won't reverse props if you hit the F2 key; but it will slow the engines down to fast idle, about 640 rpm, or slow idle, about 440 rpm. In the air or on the ground this can help slow the aircraft so you can land using less runway. The hud has an rpm window, this only shows rpm for engine 1, so even if the other 3 engines are running; the rpm window will be at 0 if engine one is not running. I believe this is because the hud was made to be used in any aircraft; not a specific aircraft. There are tip tanks in the aircraft.cfg file that I remarked out //. If you want, you can remove the // from them and have more range. Without the tip tanks the range is around 3,000 nautical miles. The main reason I remarked them out is that it shortens the take-off run. [Reference Speeds] flaps_up_stall_speed = 115.00 full_flaps_stall_speed = 95.00 cruise_speed = 268.00 //knots over the ground at 22,000 ft.(192 indicated) max_indicated_speed=400.00 max_level_speed=357 //knots over the ground at 20,000 ft. (271 indicated) Anyone: You have my permission to use any of my updates with the following conditions: One, you don't try to make money with them. Two, you don't try to hurt, or take something from anyone by using them. Bob Chicilo. bchicilo@kelcom.net
