This is an update for FSX of the CRJ-200 by Project Open Sky. I have added the CRJ 2D panel; added a HUD to the 2D panel; added an autopilot and a HUD to the VC, in windows; this makes the old, nearly unusable, VC usable; brought the pilot view in the VC closer to the panel; corrected the contact points; and updated the flight dynamics. For a model made for FS2002, it has all the usual animations. Unzip to a folder of your choice. Copy the aircraft to the main FS airplanes folder. [Reference Speeds] flaps_up_stall_speed = 125.0 //Knots True (KTAS) full_flaps_stall_speed = 102.0 //Knots True (KTAS) cruise_speed = 426.0 //Knots True (KTAS) at 37,000 ft. 242 indicated [mach 0.74] fast_cruies_speed =460.0 //knots over the ground at 37,000 ft. 265 indicated [mach 0.80] max_indicated_speed=630.00 max_mach=0.95 The aircraft has about double the range it is supposed to, even when using fast cruise; if you don't want that, go into the aircraft.cfg file and reduce the fuel in the tanks; or set the rate the fuel is used up at greater than 1. I found that a good touch down speed to be about 120 knots, give or take a knot or two. This gives you a good view over the nose and makes for a smoother touch down. The HUD and the autopilot in the VC need to be toggled on the instrument panel. You can use shift + 2 to 9 to toggle large instruments that are easy to see as well as radios and the GPS. This, I think, will enable someone to fly the aircraft from the VC. Some of the gauges on the VC work, but may be hard for some people to see well. I think when this aircraft was made, most did not have a VC as part of them. Anyone: You have my permission to use any of my updates with the following conditions: One, you don't try to make money with them. Two, you don't try to hurt, or take something from anyone by using them. Bob Chicilo. bchicilo@kelcom.net
