This is an update for FSX of the de Havilland Comet 4B by David Maltby and ricardo_tv who added a VC. There are 10 paints and a blank paint. Most of the paints are by Rick Piper. There are 2 panels to choose from; one totally by ricardo_tv, the other with the 2D part changed by me. I have updated the flight dynamics.

Unzip to a folder of your choice. Copy the aircraft to the main FS airplanes folder. Copy the effects to the main FS effects folder.

There is something, a gauge, or something else that makes choosing the aircraft load very slow; a minute, maybe. I did not time it. This happens for any paint of the aircraft.

The Air France paint is the only one set to use the panel, panel.m, that I modified. It does have the working VC. To use the autopilot on the 2D panel you must open the autopilot window, shift + 6, and click the power button to on; if you don't, the autopilot on the 2D panel won't work. If you like the 2D panel I changed, you have to go into the aircraft.cfg file and add the letter m on the panel= line on all the other paints you want to have the panel.

If you just want the original 2D panel that came with this aircraft just remove the m from the panel= line of the Air France paint.

[Reference Speeds]
flaps_up_stall_speed= 117.00
full_flaps_stall_speed= 90.00
cruise_speed= 450.00			//knots over the ground at 42,000 ft. (229 indicated) [mach 0.78]
max_indicated_speed=630.00
max_mach=0.95
fast_cruise_speed=485			//knots over the ground at 42,000 ft. (250 indicated) [mach 0.84] ???

The above fast cruise is not for real. Since you need to climb at 250 knots indicated on the autopilot or not be able to reach the 42,000 ft. cruise altitude, I tried it out as a cruise speed. I flew from Honolulu to KSFO and back to Honolulu without refueling in San Francisco; over 4,000 nautical miles. The range is supposed to be between 2,800 and 2,900 miles. You can fly either cruise speed, but you need to set at least 250 on the autopilot to reach 42,000 ft without stalling.

The range can be changed in the aircraft.cfg file by increasing the rate the fuel is used, or changing the amount of fuel in the tanks.

If you don't want to use the HUD, you have to go into the panel.cfg file and remark out // the gauge; it is near the bottom of the main window gauges, gauge 66.

Anyone: You have my permission to use any of my updates with the following conditions: One, you don't try to make money with them. Two, you don't try to hurt, or take something from anyone by using them.
