This is a corrected update for FSX of the BD-5J by Jez G. It still needs a lot of pitch trimming to fly correct, but I have made adjustments that make it easier to take off almost like other aircraft. See Read me file. The following is what was originally done: I have given it a 2D panel; changed the size and position of the GPS and the radios; given it an autopilot in a window and a HUD; corrected the contact points; and I updated the flight dynamics.

Unzip to a folder of your choice. Copy the aircraft to the main FS airplanes folder.

[Reference Speeds]
flaps_up_stall_speed    = 81.7
full_flaps_stall_speed  = 69.5
cruise_speed            = 240			//knots over the ground at 9,000 ft. (212 indicated)
max_indicated_speed =290
max_mach = 0.8257
max_level_speed= 281				//knots over the ground at 1,000 ft. (281 indicated)

Because of the position of the engine exhaust this aircraft needs trim every time you make a big enough change to the throttle. For take off: Set the trim to near the first line below the center line, full throttle, when you reach 70 to 80 knots pull back and keep pressure on if the nose does not come up. If it does not, add more up trim while keeping the back pressure on the joy stick. As soon as the nose comes up, ease off the back pressure and you will, probably, also have to remove some of the up trim to level off, or to climb at a reasonable rate. Landings usually are not quite as bad, because you normally would have little or no throttle to compensate for.

If you don't want to use the HUD; go into the panel.cfg file and remark out // the last gauge in the main panel window.

I would not want to try and fly this aircraft for real. The engine, or the tail pipe for the engine, is set too high.

Anyone: You have my permission to use any of my updates with the following conditions: One, you don't try to make money with them. Two, you don't try to hurt, or take something from anyone by using them.
