This is an update for FSX of the AMX model by Francesco Missarino which was updated by the people at the Sim Out House. The full credit list is with this update. I have given it a 2D panel from a picture of the VC; most of the gauges are from other aircraft as the ones on the VC are part of the VC; I corrected the contact points where needed; changed the size and position of the GPS and the window number and position of the configuration manager; added engine flames; added a launch assist section; and updated the flight dynamics. Last warning, new e-mail address. Unzip to a folder of your choice. Copy the aircraft to the main FS airplanes folder. Copy the effect to the main FS effects folder, no need to overwrite if already there. As far as I can tell the landing lights are automatic when the wheels are down; day or night. The aircraft has built-in fuselage and wing tip lights, as well as 2 beacons. [Reference Speeds] flaps_up_stall_speed= 118 full_flaps_stall_speed= 100 cruise_speed= 480 //knots over the ground at 36,000 ft. (285 indicated) max_indicated_speed=610 max_mach=0.95 To take off of a carrier you need the nose wheel to be inside the red box and reasonably lined up with the catapult before you use the shift + U key and the shift + I key. Make sure you throttle up to at least 75% before you launch with the shift + space bar. I left the distance between the main wheels what it was before this update so it is easier to land the aircraft on a carrier. The real distance is 3.50 feet, not 7.50 feet, from the center of the aircraft. The two fuel gauges can be set for different things; such as one for fuel flow, and the other for fuel remaining. I changed to a different HUD on the 2D panel because the one from the VC was much harder to see than the one I used. I believe, but don't know, that the Configuration Manager is for P3D not FSX. I was not interested to find out, as I like clean aircraft. I left the fuel in the aircraft.cfg file what it came with, so it has 4 invisible external tanks. As the info with the aircraft stated, with full fuel it takes about 20 knots extra speed to take off. I did not include the extra paints that came with the downloaded aircraft. None of them caught my eye as something better than the ones with the aircraft. The engine flames can be toggled on or off with the taxi lights switch. Anyone: You have my permission to use any of my updates with the following conditions: One, you don't try to make money with them. Two, you don't try to hurt, or take something from anyone by using them. Bob Chicilo. bchicilo@cogeco.ca
