This is an update for FSX of the Stratojet Excalibur. I found it with some old FS9 aircraft that I have. I have added a HUD to both panels; changed the size and position of the GPS; added the rest of the wheels; corrected any contact points needing same; gave it a custom burner effect; added pictures to be able to see it on the choose aircraft page; and I updated the flight dynamics. This is a Mach 2.20 business jet. Model and custom gauges by Eugene Heyart. Unzip to a folder of your choice. Copy the aircraft to the main airplanes folder. Copy the effects to the main effects folder. Copy the texture to the effects texture folder, no need to overwrite if already there. [Reference Speeds] flaps_up_stall_speed=125.00 full_flaps_stall_speed=105.00 cruise_speed=1262.00 //knots over the ground at 48,000 ft. (585 indicated; mach 2.20) max_indicated_speed=1600.00 max_mach=2.50 max_level_speed= mach 2.38 //634 indicated at 48,000 ft. Make sure you say yes to all the gauges, it should only have to be done the first time the aircraft is loaded. The burner part of the engines comes on when the nav lights are on. If you only want it to come on when the afterburner flames come on, you need to go into the lights section of the aircraft.cfg file and change the type of light 3, for a 6 or 7. A good approach speed until short final is about 140 knots. The best I could do was 8x time compression without the up and down problem. But even the longest flight won't take long at that rate. Depending on what time compression you are using; the autopilot may not be exactly on track GPS wise. For me it was under a nautical mile deviation, which went back on track while descending to land. Anyone: You have my permission to use any of my updates with the following conditions: One, you don't try to make money with them. Two, you don't try to hurt, or take something from anyone by using them. Bob Chicilo. bchicilo@cogeco.ca
