KOAK - Metro Oakland Intl by Ray Smith

This is a reasonably accurate and up-to-date version of Metro Oakland Intl airport with two optional files and made only for FSX users, do not use in P3D: There is one version with the Crosswind runways operating where all 4 runways will be used for takeoff/landing and one version as the default airport runway operation.
This update removes the "jfk jetways" mainly for those who have had issues installing the textures to get these jetways to display, these have now been replaced by jetway extensions that are more like the real world, Terminals 1 and 2 rebuilt with something better than the stock airport, assigned parking as per their website with extra parking, the Fedex and UPS ramps and buildings replaced, all taxiways and taxi signs updated to the latest charts, support vehicle roads rebuilt, extra fuel trucks, Helipad added to the GA apron and many other scenery improvements and objects added, airport views are from inside the control tower (when in tower view) please view the readme before installation.

Please Note: There is no support if used in P3D or using any utility to open the bgl/s.

There are 3 BGL files: KOAK_RS.BGL, KOAK_CW_RS.BGL, KOAK_RS_CVX.bgl file

Runway Operation Files:

The KOAK_CW_RS.BGL file is with the Crosswind runways activated where all 4 runways will be used simultaneously.
The KOAK_RS.BGL file is the same as the default airport runway operation.
Assigned parking is the same in both files.

To Install:

If you are using my earlier version please remove/delete these files first including the "KOAK_OBJ.BGL" (if used) that was placed in the
"FSX\Scenery\Global\scenery" folder, if you would rather keep them remove them to another folder not associated with FSX.

1. Take the runway operation file of your choice (only one) and the KOAK_RS_CVX.BGL file and place both of these files into:

           Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery\scenery folder

2. Open the "Fedex and UPS Textures" folder: Take the "43" textures from that folder and "PASTE" these textures into:

          FSX\Addon Scenery\texture folder.

if you have my earlier version just overwrite the others when asked, make sure you use all 43 textures (2 extra textures)

3. Start up the Flight Sim and the changes will be present

Note: Only those with Acceleration installed will see the vehicles in the terminal car park.

IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE ONLY USE ONE RUNWAY OPERATION FILE AT ANY TIME:

i.e: make sure there is only ONE KOAK_RS.BGL FILE and the KOAK_CVX.BGL file are in the Addon Scenery\scenery folder at any time, remove/delete any other KOAK.bgl to avoid incorrect parking and other airport conflicts.

If you have any AI Payware Traffic Addons please make sure they have "NOT" installed an Afcad for this airport as this will also cause a conflict.

PLEASE NOTE: when using ATIS with the KOAK_CW_RS.BGL file you will hear the fake runways as well as the airport runways, this is the method used in activating non parallel runways and should be ignored or if preferred use the version KOAK_RS.BGL

To Uninstall:

1. Delete/remove the BGL files and the default airport will then be active.

The Late Jim Vile for his Technique that activates crosswind runways, also for the invaluable help over the years, RIP my friend.

Robert Catherall for his help as usual

 Special thanks to these people:

Victor Nauta for the permission to use his scenery objects.

Patrick Finch for the use of his scenery objects and the excellent Fedex, UPS vehicles and warehouses.

TIP: when at KOAK in tower view: go to your control settings and look for the "View track/pan Toggle"
allocate a keyboard key stroke to it (I allocated a button on my controller) this will unlock the user aircraft, then you can use the hat switch to pan 360 degrees around the airport, hitting the key stroke again (in my case a button) will return you to the user aircraft position

       Enjoy and Happy flying
