KBOS - Boston/Logan Intl Airport, Massachusetts, USA by Robert Catherall

This is Ray Smith's 'fsx_kbos_rs' file made for FSX. Ray has given me permission modify his file and make it available for Prepar3Dv4. My file may or may not be compatible with other versions of the Prepar Sim. This is an accurate and up-to-date version of Boston/Logan Intl airport with two optional files, one version with the Crosswind runways activated where all 6 runways will be used for takeoff/landing and one version as the default runway operation: assigned parking as per their website with extra parking including a gate for the A380, the expansion for Terminal B added and assigned for United Airlines, a new control tower, taxiways and taxi signs updated to the latest charts, extra fuel trucks, lighted helipad, support vehicle roads rebuilt and many other scenery improvements and objects added, airport views are from the roof of the control tower.

There are 3 BGL files: KBOS_RWC.BGL, KBOS_CW_RWC.BGL and a KBOS_RWC_CVX.BGL file

Runway Operation Files:

The KBOS_CW_RWC.BGL file is with the crosswind runways activated where all 6 runways will be used Simultaneously,
The KBOS_RWC.BGL file is the same as the default airport runway operation.

Assigned parking is the same in both files......

To Install:

There are several methods for installing the file into Prepar, I will describe one:

1. If not already done Create an 'Addon Scenery' folder preferable outside the main Prepar folder.

2. Add 'scenery' and 'texture' folders to the 'Addon Scenery' folder you created.

3. Take the runway operation file of your choice (only one) and the KBOS_RWC_CVX.BGL file and place both of these files into:

          Addon Scenery\scenery folder

4. The new control tower needs the textures added for it, please follow these steps carefully:

"Browse" to the Prepar3Dv4\Scenery\NAME\texture folder, Scroll down the list until you see these 3 textures:

             Boston_logan_tower.dds
             Boston_logan_tower_lm.dds
             Boston_logan_tower_Specular.dds

"COPY" these 3 textures from that folder and "PASTE" them into the Addon Scenery\texture folder

5. Open the "kbos textures" folder: Take the "23" textures from that folder and "PASTE" them into:

         Addon Scenery\texture folder.

6. If you have not previously done so, the 'Addon Scenery' folder must be activated. Start the Sim click on World->Scenery Library->Add Area and follow the procedure for activation.

IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE ONLY USE ONE RUNWAY OPERATION FILE AT ANY TIME:
i.e: make sure there is only ONE KBOS_RWC.BGL FILE and the KBOS_RWC_CVX.BGL file are in the Addon Scenery\scenery folder at any time,
remove/delete any other KBOS.bgl to avoid incorrect parking and other airport conflicts.

If you have any AI Payware Traffic Addons please make sure they have "NOT" installed an Afcad for this airport as this will also cause a conflict.

PLEASE NOTE: when using ATIS with the KBOS_CW_RWC.BGL file you will hear the fake runways as well as the airport runways,
this is the method used in activating non parallel runways and should be ignored or if preferred use the version KBOS_RWC.BGL

To Uninstall:

1. Delete/remove the BGL files and the default airport will then be active.
