RAF Sabre F1, 20 Sqd., 2nd TAF, Oldenburg, Germany 1955-56
Aircraft by Kirk Olsson
Repaint by Frank Safranek

About this aircraft
-------------------
Almost 30 years ago I bought a decal sheet (#37) by the UK firm "Model Decal".
One of the included aircraft was an F-86 (Canadair Sabre). When Kirk Olsson
told me last year that he was working on a Sabre I was excited because I like
anything made by North American Aircraft. When I was able to see an early copy
I decided that now was the time to finally use that decal sheet, even if it
wasn't on a plastic kit. So using that and a couple RAF history websites as
reference I painted up this Canadair Sabre F1 in RAF colors.

The aircraft represented was assigned to 20 Sqd. at Oldenburg in (then) West
Germany in the mid 50s. The pilot was Sqd. Leader Leslie C. Glover. His name
and rank pennant appear on the left side. The unit operated both Sabre F1 and
F4 models with a mix of both slatted and slick "hard (6-3)" wings. This
particular aircraft, XB900, had the slatted wing.

About these textures
--------------------
These textures are intended for use with the Kirk Olsson's "gMax Sabrejet" package.
Only the textures unique to the aircraft are included so you will need to have the
aircraft package installed first.

Installation (Fs2004)
---------------------------------
This zip file contains only the textures that are unique to this scheme. You will
also need the original "gMax Sabrejet" files. The intended method for installation
is as an optional set of markings.

A) Install Kirk Olsson's "gMax Sabrejet" aircraft package.
B) Make a new folder named "texture.raf" under the "Aircraft\gmaxf86a" folder.
C) Copy the textures from the original "gmaxf86a\texture.canada 2" folder to the new one.
D) Extract the three texture files (*.bmp) in this zip file to the new
"gmaxf86a\texture.raf" folder. Go ahead and overwrite when prompted.
E) Edit the aircraft.cfg files to add the new [fltsim.xx] section that reads as follows:
(change "xx" to be the next number in sequence -- don't duplicate or skip or
	it will not work)

[fltsim.xx]

sim=gmaxf86a

F) That's it. You will now have another Sabrejet available under
"North American/F-86 (Slats)" when you go to Select Aircraft.
