FSX Piper PA-28-140 2K2 Virtual Panel Projector - Read Me File (Panel_Projection_Kit_Cherokee_2K2.ZIP) FSX - General Aviation Aircraft After many hours of flying the Cherokee 140 2K2 airplanes, (Legacy_Cherokee_2K2X.zip) with two monitors, allowing me to fly full-time with the left wing window, I soon found that the "static panel" image wasn't enough for me on the second screen, as I looked for "key positions" and traffic out the front and right windows of the airplane. Hence, the old "static" view pushed me to look into what Abacus FSDS calls the "VPanel" or virtual panel which is part of the virtual cockpit you already have in the 2K2X collection. Some many think this is a modification to create a 3D or virtual panel in these airplanes, but really is nothing but a projection of the 2D panel I fly on my fixed main screen. The outside view of the static panel is still there, but this kit makes the two interior panels now real-time, dynamic illustrating information I can use in flight situations. This optional "kit", if you choose to use it via the AIRCRAFT.CFG file changes, only activates the panel.1 via model.1 files built in this design. If you don't like the kit, simply go back to using your existing panel and model folders provided in the original zip file. The use of this package allows you to "add" the feature to selected Cherokee 140's you have in FSX or all of your 2K2X airplanes. The key is the text updates in AIRCRAFT.CFG and which panel and model you wish to use. All three versions of the Cherokee 2K2X Projects are here, with the dynamic projection panels and yes, they already have the most current prop updates as well. Enjoy! A project by Ronald Prindle THIS PACKAGE IS OFFERED AS FREEWARE, AND IS NOT TO BE PLACED ON ANY CD OR OTHERWISE USED TO PROFIT. Installation ------------ Simply copy the desired panel update "unzipped" file folder "sets" from this package and replace the necessary Aircraft.CFG TEXT (examples below) into the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Cherokee 2K2... " folders on your PC. I recommend you try just one airplane and see if the \Model.1 & \Panel.1 changes are to your liking? Change AIRCRAFT.CFG to; model=1 panel=1 Your original panel is still avalible with a simple TEXT change of; model= panel= will take you back to the airplane as it was before the kit mod. While looking out the left window, I quickly saw the little "flapper door" outline was gone on the origianl 2K2X zip file. I added the little window we use for ventialtion and "clear prop" calls with the addes zip file TEXTURES.ZIP for each airplane, if you'd like to see the little portal on the left window? Some may notice I added another floatplane with the NOAA paint scheme, you are free to add it to your AIRCRAFT.CFG file as well as the texture.noaa folder for fun.
