The Grumman G-44 J4F Widgeon, was the "little sister" of the Grumman Goose, built in 1940.
It was used as a small patrol and utility aircraft by the US Navy and the Royal Navy.
(The Royal Navy gave it the name "Gosling")

Military Operators of this little amphibian were Brazil, Portugal, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States and Uruguay.

A brief history on the Fleet Air Arm's Gosling can be read on the Home Page of FLEET AIR ARM ARCHIVE 1939-1945 (http://www.fleetairarmarchive.net)

--------

This repaint represents Portuguese Navy Patrol plane 129 (cn129).
Between 1947 and 1952 it was used in Mozambique by the Hidrographic mission

I have used Heather Sherman's splendid all metal textures as a template.
Thank you Heather for giving us so many great "basic metal" repaints to start from.

--------

Installation:

a/ First of all you need the original model of the Grumman G44 Widgeon by Joe Binka.
Available on Avsim and Simviation. (Grumman_Widgeon.zip)
b/ Make a temporary folder.
c/ Extrude all the files of this repaint ZIP file into the new folder.
d/ There you will see a folder Texture.port_navy, this Readme_Widgeon 129.txt file and two screen prints.
e/ Add the Texture.port_navy folder to the original Grumman Widgeon directory.
f/ Then copy the total [fltsim.X] text at the bottom of this page and add it to the existing Aircraft.cfg file.
Alter the "X" to the next number in sequence, and you're done.
h/ After this, if you start Flight Simulator, you should be able to select the Portuguese Navy Widgeon 129.

I hope you enjoy this repaint.
