GENERAL INFO ------------- USE THE MAP Feature when flying around mountains because FS6 shows you the scenery before you are there and you may still be over the mountains even through you do not see them. ================================ Many of the airports now have taxi lanes, fuel (near tanks), buildings and more. I am sure that the cities are larger than real life but I never been to Alaska. ================================ This is a large scenery and a map of the state will help. I would go down to a pilot store and pick up the World Aeronautical Charts CD 11 (Anchorage Area), CD 9 for Fairbanks, and CD 12 (Juneau Area). A state map will help going greater distances *********************************************************************** ANCHORGAE AREA The mountains west of Anchorage are around 6,000 feet but there are some peaks that are higher. It has a flat base to the top of it. The Alaska range has been added which lies west of Northway or South of Allen. Version 8.2 New scenery covers from Anchorage to Yakutat upto the 62 degree line Plus some fixed mountains and better looking rivers. I have fixed the rivers and the scenery around them. There will be no scenery adjustment because of evelation changes anymore. I am also fixing mountains so they do not shift or shift very little becasue of elevation changes in the land scape. Mt McKinley has this new change so when you fly from Kantishna the mountains sit still making the flight more enjoyable. As I release more versions, I will plan on fixing more mountains. Frame Rate: To help speed up frame rate, objects around airports are being set in DENSE mode for slower computers. If you have a fast computer, you may want to set your scenery complexily to very dense. The objects consist of trees, cars, some buildings The airports are being re-done This version has Valdez, Cordorva, Kenai, and Yatutat changed. The next version (Alaska 8.3) will have more. Version 8.3 out by late December or early Jan.
