Thank you for downloading this repaint file, made on request of my good friend Jim Domzalski.
He presented some great photographs and information of this particular Thunderstreak.
These are textures only for the ALPHASIM FREEWARE F-84F Thunderstreak package. Thanks to Alphasim for releasing this excellent model as freeware.

The repaint represents Republic F-84F Thunderstreak S/N 51-1659 as it flew in the markings of the 389th Fighter Bomber Squadron (part of the 366th Fighter Bomber Wing at Alexandria AFB, Louisiana) in 1955.
The original plane is now beautifully restored in these striking squadron colors and resides at the Combat Air Museum, Topeka - Kansas.
The following web link will show the history of this aircraft: http://www.combatairmuseum.org/aircraft/republicf84.html

INSTALLATION:

NOTE: The textures can be used on the "clean" F-84F as well as on the F-84F with drop tanks.

Extract the file to a temporary folder.
There you will see this Readme text file, a texture folder a screenprint of the FS plane and a picture of the original aircraft.
Move the texture folder "texture.659" to your ALPHASIM F-84F Thunderstreak folder.
To keep the file size acceptable only the repainted textures are in the texture folder.
Copy the contents of one of the other texture folders and paste them in the "texture.659" folder. Be carefull not to overwrite the files already in there.
Back up the corresponding 'AIRCRAFT.CFG' file (should you wish) and open the original with a text editor.
Add the text below to your Alphasim Thunderstreak aircraft.cfg file and change the XX [fltsim.xx] to the next number in sequence.

[fltsim.XX]
