A Note From our Textures Artist, Urs "Maloney" Burkhardt

For this is my first professional creation of an FS aircraft, i've been repainting
aircrafts for some years. From simple trim lines painted over, to tweaking
and replacing existing textures with my own. All that just to have my flyers
personalized.

Yet the real art is not just using photographs, it is the blending and tweaking
of existing textures and pictures, may they be from FS standard aircraft
or my own.

In this case (the Spartan), I used some existing textures done by Microsoft.
Yes, that is true. Despite what you might say, they did some outstanding
artwork with the standard DH Comet, Jenny, Robinson, et al. So one part of
the credits goes to Microsoft.

The herringbone fabric VC texture was just a photograph of my trusted old coat
I bought in London years ago, and the wooden trim in the cabin and the cockpit
has now nothing in common with the piece of furniture in my home. The exterior
skin was once a piece of a metal texture from one of the many free-texture-archives
on the net, and the cowling is a fantasy of my own.

And some textures are provided by Milton, probably from one of his earlier
work. The framed picture on the bulkhead is a photograph from airliners.net,
taken by Patrick Smith.

After countless hours sitting in front of my monitor, they melted to what
looks like a aircraft. :-)

The result is here, the wonderful Spartan. Thanks to Milton, Eric and Scott
for the warm welcome in their group.
