BEFORE STARTING ENGINE

[ ] Brakes -- TEST and SET
[ ] Electrical Equipment -- OFF
[ ] Landing Gear Lever -- DOWN
[ ] Cowl Flaps -- OPEN
[ ] Intercoolers -- OPEN
[ ] Fuel Selector Valve -- MAIN

ENGINE START

Press E to initiate engine auto-start sequence, or:

[ ] Propeller -- HIGH rpm
[ ] Mixture -- RICH
[ ] Propeller Area -- CLEAR
[ ] Master Battery Switch -- ON
[ ] Ignition -- BOTH
[ ] Engine Start Switch -- ON

Note: Engine start order: 3, 4, 2, and 1. 
Repeat this procedure for Engines 4,1, and 2 in that order.

Then:

[ ] Throttle -- 1,000 rpm and check for rise in oil pressure

BEFORE TAKEOFF

[ ] Brakes -- SET
[ ] Flight Controls -- FREE and CORRECT
[ ] Flight Instruments -- CHECK and SET
[ ] Primer -- LOCKED
[ ] Mixture -- RICH
[ ] Fuel Quantity -- CHECK
[ ] Fuel Selector Valve -- RECHECK main
[ ] Elevator Trim -- SET for takeoff
[ ] Rudder Trim -- SET for takeoff
[ ] Throttle -- 2,000 rpm
[ ] Magnetos -- CHECK
[ ] Propeller -- CYCLE high rpm/
      low rpm/high rpm
[ ] Engine Instruments and Ammeter -- CHECK
[ ] Throttle -- 1,000 rpm
[ ] Propeller -- HIGH rpm
[ ] Flaps -- SET for takeoff (0-10 degrees)
[ ] Cowl Flaps -- OPEN

TAKEOFF

[ ] Cowl Flaps -- 1/3 OPEN
[ ] Flaps -- 0-10 degrees
[ ] Mixture -- RICH (may be leaned above 3000')
[ ] Propeller -- 2,700 rpm
[ ] Throttle -- Maximum 49.0 in. Hg.
[ ] Throttle -- 2,700 rpm
[ ] Brakes -- RELEASE

[ ] Takeoff speed -- 110 MPH  moderate load to 130 MPH full load
[ ] Brakes -- APPLY momentarily when airborne
[ ] Landing Gear -- RETRACT in climb-out
[ ] Flaps -- RETRACT

CLIMB

[ ] Airspeed -- 140 MPH
[ ] Throttle --  35 in. Hg.
[ ] Propeller -- 2,300 rpm
[ ] Fuel Selector Valve -- MAIN
[ ] Mixture -- RICH (may be leaned above 3,000')
[ ] Cowl flaps -- 1/3 OPEN or less

CRUISE
[ ] Airspeed -- 150-155 MPH 
[ ] Propeller -- 1,400 to 2,000 rpm 
to maintain 150 MPH
[ ] Throttle -- 29 (+/- 1) in. Hg. 
(or less if unable to mamaintain 150 MPH)
[ ] Elevator Trim -- ADJUST
[ ] Rudder Trim -- ADJUST
[ ] Mixture -- LEAN as necessary
[ ] Cowl flaps -- 1/3 OPEN or less
