PACIFIC WARRIORS; PACIFIC HAWK
You live in a tent, your airfield is a muddy jungle clearing, and the enemy have better planes than you. Welcome to Seven Mile airstrip and Port Moresby.

CREDITS

THE AIRCRAFT

CURTISS KITTYHAWK Mk.I A (P-40E)

A representation of a plane of the 75th Fighter Squadron RAAF at
Port Moresby and Milne Bay (New Guinea) during first half of 1942.
From the original AFX by Harald "Humming" Reuter.
Heavily reworked, resized for CFS and with new DP and AIR files.
Painted with new advanced techniques. by MAuro Giacomazzi.

Moving parts Bell P-39D Airacobra for CFS.
Based on an original AFX by Eric Johnson,
it includes moving prop, gear, flaps,
ailerons, elevator and rudder. Also
included are landing lights, accurate gun
placement and a new flight model. By Chuck
Dome. Freeware.

Also included are re-posts of the "Betty" and "Nell" bombers that were included in the "Pacific Warriors" base pack. These have both been slightly re-edited, and should be allowed to overwrite the originals.

THE SCENERY

The scenery is both local, and limited, covering quite small area's around the airfields. The main bulk of land is still the default scenery, and you should be aware that ground level in this area is around 3500ft.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Quickly rushed to the front line in a desperate effort to halt the Japanese advance south, 75 Squadron was something of a scratch force, comprising pilots fresh from North Africa, and others straight from flight school. Add to this the fact the P-40's they were flying, (supplied from the U.S. via the UK) Were technically inferior to the enemy fighters in the area, and it would seem that 75 Squadron had been handed an impossible task.
However, for nearly two months, this small band of pilots, along with the men of the scratch force that made up the ground forces, held the line long enough for re-enforcments in the shape of Australian veterans from North Africa plus fresh Australian and American troops and aircraft to get into position.
The defense of Port Moresby during this time surely ranks as a true legend in the history of armed conflict.

THE MISSIONS

I have tried to make the missions as typical of 75 Squadrons missions as possible, and I think that I have succeeded. A couple of the missions are fairly easy, others are a little tougher, and one or two are quite desperate. All in all I think that I have got a good selection for you. Enjoy.

INSTILLATION

Assuming that you have already installed "Pacific warriors" (which you need) you know how to install scenery, so I will not bore you by telling you how to do it again. But I will say that you should install the scenery as "regional" scenery, as this should prevent any of the included textures "leaking" into the rest of your scenery.

Other than that, it is just the usual case of dropping the aircraft and mission files into the appropriate folders. Enjoy!
