------------------------------ Gmax F-86 Sabre ---------------------------

This is to try and provide some help to those of you who want to create
repaints. I have included in this folder some layered Tiff files for use
with Photoshop. There are guide layers to help you align strips and decals.
They are:

fuse_t.tiff
fuse1_t.tiff

I've also provided some DXT1.bmp's if you don't have Photoshop. However
these do not have the help layers and there for it will be much more
difficult to align the different strips and decals you may be attempting
to create.

When your repaint is done just save the texture as a bmp using the same
name. You can then convert it to a DXT1 or DXT3 format. Remember not to
use mip maps. I recommend using the program DXTBMP to insure there will
be no mip maps.

There are also 3 decal textures used in this F-86 model. They are:

tankdecal.bmp -------------------- (decal for the left and right fuel tanks. To put letters or numbers on the tanks)
top decal.bmp --------------------- (decal for the top aft of canopy strip on Boeing models ONLY!)
nose decal decal.bmp ------------ (decal for the top front part of the nose)

However, realistically you'll only be able to work with the
tankdecal.bmp. It would just be too difficult to use the others, but
you are welcome to try. Most models use totally transparent versions
of these bmp's anyway.

Only the German, US experimental and Blue impulse texture folders
(texture.G,texture.GC,texture.usex and texture.bi) use the nose decal
decal.bmp to help with texturing.

Only the Japanese paint schemes take advantage of the tankdecal.bmp's.
(texture.japan and texture.bi)

And only the Boeing "models" use or even have the top decal.bmp

I'm not really thinking about repaints when I make my planes. It's
difficult enough just creating an aircraft let alone thinking about the
most efficient way for repaints, but hopefully this will be helpful to
you friend.

Thanks for downloading the Sabre and Enjoy!
