SR-71 PROCEDURES CHECKLIST (modified for FSX)

For specifications and limits, see the Reference tab.

Consult HTML manual supplied with this distribution
for detailed descriptions, instructions, procedures,
panel operation, detailed specifications and limits.

Operation of Radar or TCAS equipement not included.

WARNING: FS standard Clear and Calm produces too-warm
high altitude weather for rated cruise performance
in this aircraft.
DO NOT USE FUEL PUMP IN "AUTO" MODE OR INCORRECT CG
WILL RESULT.

AutoThrottle is always engaged in this aircraft.

Saved flight at Beale AFB (KBAB) provided with this
distribution will provide best cockpit setup and
default high altitude weather for stable flight.

FUEL CALCULATION (lbs)

        CLIMB CRUISE DESCENT
KNOTS 900 1780 700
RATE 28900 38100 12300

Determine estimated fuel for entire flight route.
Add Reserve: 10000 lbs.
Northern Hemisphere:
Flight to East: Subtract 1000 lbs.
Flight to West: Add 1000 lbs.

Based on calculation, use one of three STD loads:
45K lbs (all tanks 56%)
55.6K lbs (all tanks 69%)
66K lbs (all tanks 83%)

Most 120 - 150 minute missions will use the 66K lbs load
without refueling.

Best max take off performance using 45K lb load.

Consult manual for descent schedules,
emergency conditions recovery and
performance limits.
