Premier Aircraft Design (PAD) has announced the release of the first in a line-up of new freeware aircraft for FS2004, the Diamond Katana DA20.

The Katana DA20 is a two place training and general aviation aircraft manufactured in Europe, USA and Canada. This is one of several light aircraft from Diamond Aircraft and all are made of lightweight composite material giving high performance and low maintenance.

The new FS2004 model is designed in FSDS2 by Pavel Toman, PAD's newest associate, and features a dynamic virtual cockpit with opening canopy and sounds. The visual model is highly detailed and carries accurate liveries and logos.

Barry Blaisdell has designed a set of authentic panels with many advanced features and Barry has also produced the sounds and a realistic flight model to go with the new design, his aim being to make this near to the real thing as possible and as much fun to fly. The Katana has the reputation of being a true pilot's plane.

Five liveries, each with an individual panel and VC, are available for download initially. Barry and Pavel, together with Bob May, have plans to produce models of other Diamond aircraft in the near future, including the two place DA20-C1 Evolution, the Eclipse, USAF Falcon, the four place DA40-180 Diamond Star, DA40D Diesel , the HK36 Motorglider and Dimona taildragger plus the exciting DA42 Twin Star.
