CFS Douglas B-26C (A-26C) Invader
Chilean Air Force - Fuerza Aerea de Chile
The Chilean Air force operated the Douglas A-26 between the years 1954 to 1978, mainly in bomber duties, close support, reconnaissance and liaison, ending his days as targets tug.
This plane replaced the B-25 Mitchell bomber, in service since 1946 with the Grupo 8.
In Chile, the A-26 was known as B-26 "Black Widow", due to their look like with the Northrop P-61, the true owner name.
I have included the textures for the Douglas A-26C FACH # 845, all black, Grupo 8, 1955.
This version is the A-26C's "glass" nose, officially termed the "Bombardier nose", contained a Norden bombsight for medium altitude precision bombing. The A-26C nose section included two fixed M-2 guns.
An A-26C nose section could be exchanged for an A-26D nose section, or vice versa, in a few man-hours.
FS98 original model creator: Gerry Schmidt.
Panel: Paolo Kromberg.
Damage profile for CFS1 and repaint with chilean markings: Edmundo Abad.
