Learjet 23. The
Swiss FFA P-16 jet fighter, cancelled by the federal government
in the late 1950's caught the eye of Bill Lear who saw in it
the basis for a twin jet executive aircraft. He initiated the
design in November 1959 and formed the Swiss American Aviation
Corporation. By 1962, Lear moved the project to Wichita, Kansas
and renamed the organization the Lear Jet Corporation. The prototype
made it's first flight on October 7, 1963. The Learjet 23 was
delivered on October 13, 1964. This model features reflective
textures, animated control surfaces, door and gear. By John
