P-47-25 from the 86th FS with an unusual 3 letter code (most were two). The Thunderbolts of the 79th FG out of Fano, Italy in 1945 retained the X-plus numbers system it first used on P-40's in North Aftrica. This P-47 was in service with the 86th FS.
