Puget Sound AI Ferries
(Category: FS2004 > Scenery)
1.08Mb (671 downloads)
Washington State Ferries on Puget Sound. This enhancement places several simple but visually accurate AI Ferries making trips on Puget Sound to and from Seattle, Bremerton, Bainbridge Island and a few other docks which Microsoft provided. Also added are the Edmonds/Kingston and Mukilteo/Clinton runs. If you have been to this area, you know how important Ferry traffic is and seeing them in motion helps bring the scenery alive. The model is of the Washington State Ferry "Klahoia" by Dave Robbins, which I have modified slightly to work as an AI craft. This enhancement has been tested on the default FS2004 scenery only. A few technical notes are included if you wish to experiment with adding AI Ferries to your own scenery. All necessary files are included in two packages, so please read instructions carefully in the main file. Please unzip to a temporary folder and follow the very simple installation instructions. Compiled for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall (1935-2011). (Uploaded by R D, a fellow FS fan, student of Opa's talents and grateful friend)

FSX/P3D Native Douglas A3D Skywarrior X (with dropable bomb!)
(Category: FSX > Military)
12.34Mb (3349 downloads)
Alphasim's classic rendition of this essential naval bomber, updated to FSX mdlX format, animations and materials.
The largest aircraft ever designed for regular ship-board use, the A3D (A-3B, post 1962 tri-service) was designed by the brilliant Ed Heinemann
at Douglas Aircraft. The navy 1949 specification was a demanding document, calling for a ship-board aircraft with medium bomber speed, warload
and range. Most manufacturers responded with 120,000 lb behemoths, sea-going B-47's intended to operate from the then un-built super carrier United States. Heinemann thought BuAir had their heads up their auspufrhor's, and designed his bomber to fly off the Essex class ships at 70,000lbs. The rest is history.
Huge Bravo_Zulu for Henk, Essex, Arno; and the crew at SOH and FSDevloper
With the kind permission and encouragement of Phil at Virtavia.com
A large thanks for Bob Chilco for the various flight dynamics and effects updates.
Without help and support from these folks, none of this would happen. Works in FSX and P3D.

FSX Native Supermarine Seafire FR Mk.47 X
(Category: FSX > Vintage)
10.81Mb (2103 downloads)
The ultimate Spitfire development, the Seafire 47 was twice as heavy as the Spitfire I and nearly doubled every other operational parameter of the original, too. A delight in the air, the machine was a bit of a handful coming aboard and not as robust as it's contemporaries. Still, it was every inch a warplane and shouldered the load in the early part of the Korean war.
AF Scrub's very sweet FR.47 has a long MSFS lineage, now in FSX native mdlX format, with Scrubby's permission. B-Z, dude! Works in FSX and P3D.

FSX Native Curtiss P-40Q X
(Category: FSX > Vintage)
5.47Mb (1118 downloads)
Ever heard of the P-40Q? The ultimate development of the Curtiss Hawks incorporated all the combat lessons of four years of combat. Though reaching 422mph and quite nimble, the Q wasn't any advance over the fighters in production by that time. A couple of Q's found their way into civilian hands as air racers at the '47 Cleveland Air Races, subject of this model, a rather elderly Piglet plane, one of his earliest FS2002 models, I had no idea this aircraft had been modeled.
2016 Update to FSX native materials and animations, an extra USAAF skin and an unmarked re-painter enclosed.

FSX Transatlantic Paddle Steamer Great Western
(Category: FSX > Misc)
5.76Mb (1130 downloads)
FSX/Acceleration Transatlantic paddle steamer Great Western. She was the first steam engine ship specially built for Atlantic crossings. It was also the biggest passenger ship at this time. She won the Blue Riband voyage in 1843 for the fastest boat crossing the Atlantic. The FS-model is very detailed and has removeabable sails and stoppable paddle wheels. Twentyone cameras let you explore the whole ship. FSDS 3.5 model and all configurations by Erwin Welker

FSX Native Curtiss SC-1 Seahawk X
(Category: FSX > Vintage)
14.68Mb (1039 downloads)
Entering service in 1943/44, The Seahawk was a huge advance in shipboard seaplanes. Fast, nimble and well armed, this single seat seaplane featured surface search radar provisions, a bomb bay in the float (which leaked, so was fitted with a fuel tank and sealed) and had provisions in the aft fuselage for carrying up to 3 seated personel, or a stretcher.
Conversion to FSX native materials and animations, beaching gear added. I know that Paul released the native version years back, but Scrubby's
has un-mirrored textures.
Model: Paul 'Putt-putt' Clawson, A.F. Scrub and Y.T. See readme for full credits
