CFS1 Royal Aircraft Factory Se5A "Scout" Chilean Air Force - Fuerza Aerea de Chile The Chilean Army Air Corps, (later Chilean Air Force) operated the R.A.F. Se5A between the years 1919 to 1926, mainly in ighter duties, fighter training, reconnaissance and liaison. In Chile, this plane was known as "Scout". A replica of the SE5A #66 own named "Maule", is yet preserved in the aeronautical museum at Cerrillos. Flight model creators: Andrew W. Hall & Stephan Scholz. CFS1 De Havilland D.H.9 Chilean Air Force - Fuerza Aerea de Chile The Chilean Army Air Corps, (later Chilean Air force) operated the D.H.9 between the years 1919 to 1926, mainly in bomber duties, bomber training, reconnaissance and liaison. On september 1922, two D.H.9 own named "Talca" and "Ferroviario", participated in the first south-american long range cruise, Santiago-Rio de Janeiro, leaded by Cap. Diego Aracena Aguilar. FS98/CFS Cessna 208 Grand Caravan. Represents Cessna 208 Grand Caravan in two chilean markings. CC-CTR Patagonia Airlines, flown by Nelson Bahamonde, and E-132 Ejercito de Chile - Chilean Army. The history of the CC-CTR of Patagonia Airlines, it is at the same time, a tragedy and heroism history. On June 7, 2008, this plane, piloted by Nelson Bahamonde, crashed in the Aysen region. Thanks to the know-how of the pilot, the plane achieved to land with relative smoothness, deadening the impact with the tree's branches cover with snow. The nine passengers saved unscathed but the pilot died days after due to a head-injuries and internal injuries. While was with life, organized to the passengers so that they could survive. Nelson Bahamondes died on June 9, and the rescue arrived on June 11, when the survivors only had grass and roots to eat, and snow to drink. The modern twin-engined plane with capacity for 44 passengers, was destined to flight the routes Santiago-La Serena-Antofagasta and Santiago-Concepci¾n.
