B-24J Liberator.
First flown in Dec. '39, the early B-24s were used by the RAF in the
transport role initially, later on long-range anti-sub patrols. Although
the C model saw limited use in the Mid-East, the D model was the first
mass-produced Liberator in widespread use. Later variants broke many
production records and served in every theatre of war with all the
Allied nations. Total production of the B-24 was over 19,000 units
when the lines closed in 1945. Model : P Perrott/ Alphasim. 3.4MB

Messerschmitt Me 209 V4 On
April 26, 1936, the world was informed that a specialy modified version
of the Luftwaffe's single-seat fighter had raised the wourld air speed
record to 755,11 km/h (469,22 mph). Later, Messerschmitt tried to
make a fighter out of the Me 209. One experimental plane was built,
the Me 209 V4. The flight tests showed that this plane was too difficult
to fly for an average-trained pilot.Original mdl by Alain Coupet Modified

MS-406.
Equipping 19 of the 26 French fighter groups available in May of 1940,
the M.S. 406 was the most numerous fighter available to combat the
Germans. However, severely underpowered, unprotected, and underarmed,
the M.S. 496 proved to be as easy to shoot down as it was to fly.
