CFS2/FS2002/ PA-48 Enforcer With new ideas of how to keep the P-51 Mustang alive in 1968 and in service, the long-standing workhorse Merlin V- 12 was replaced with a turboprop. This mod was not funded by the USAF, but by Cavalier. The new modification was called the Turbo Mustang III. Later, Cavalier sold the project to Piper. The Enforcer had little in common with the original P-51 and it was flight tested in April 1971. The USAF, under pressure from Congress, did order two prototype PA-48 from Piper. The Dornier Do17z-10 Kaus II Night Fighter Telefunken FuG 202 Radar.The last few production Do-17z were made as Night Fighters. The glazed nose was removed and replaced with a custom built solid one. The armament was upgraded over the Kaus I, and the crew could reload the 20 mm cannons internally. This Z-10 was equipt with the Telefunken FuG 202 Radar detection system. Extra range was by placing fuel tanks in the bomb bay. Only nine Z-10s were completed and served for less than two years in the night fighter role, where it was used in Josef Kammhuber's defensive system, known as the Kammhuber Line.
