Porters Place! Porters Place is located approximatly 50 miles from Valdez on a 101 degree heading. Porters Place is a dropoff point for explosives used by construction and oil people far out in the bush. It consists of a 600 foot gravel runway and a small turn-around / dropoff ramp to unload explosives and pickup work crews. There is a small cabin where the station manager lives, serves food, and provides a rest stop for the incoming pilots. There is only one plane to use here and survive....The PILATUS PORTER!
