FS2002/FS2004 Lockheed YF-12 Black Bird. This was an experimental fighter-interceptor version of the Lockheed A-12 reconnaissance aircraft. In Air Force flight tests on May 1, 1965, the YF-12 set a speed record of 2,070.101 mph and an altitude record of 80,257.65 feet. First publicly displayed at Edwards Air Force Base in 1964, the YF-12 was never adopted by the military as an operational aircraft. FS2002/FS2004 FMA IA-63 Pampa. The FMA IA 63 Pampa is an advanced trainer aircraft with combat capability, produced in Argentina by FMA with assistance from Dornier of Germany. Heavily influenced by the Dassault-Breguet/Dornier Alpha Jet design, the main difference of the Pampa lies in being a smaller aircraft with one engine instead of two, and in having straight wings instead of swept wings. The Pampa prototype first flew on October 6, 1984. Production has been delayed and hampered by the state of the Argentinian economy, and as a result only 20 production aircraft have been built for the Argentinian Air Force. FS2002/FS2004 Lockheed A-12 Black Bird. The Lockheed A-12 was designed in the late 1950s for the CIA as a follow-on to the U-2 under a programme codename "Oxcart". The aircraft first flew from Groom Lake on 26 Apr 62 piloted by Lou Schalk. The aircraft was designed to directly overfly a target, as opposed to 'standing-off' a target and taking oblique photographs. A variety of different cameras could be carried in the 'Q' bay immediately behind the pilot. A variety of ECM packages were carried in the chine bays. The A-12 remains the fastest, highest flying plane ever built and achieved a speed of Mach 3.35 and a height of 95,000ft. by Kazunori Ito. 1.2MB
