FSX Waco SRE Aristocrat The Waco SRE dates from 1940 and was the last of the Waco cabin biplanes. It was luxurious for its time and was known as the Aristocrat. This is a native FSX-Acceleration model based on the paint scheme of a SRE owned by a personal friend. It has the usual animations, .dds textures, reflective glass and a specular shine. The VC features working gauges and animated flight controls. There is a minimal 2D panel. By Paul Clawson

FS2004/FSX Corsair F4U-1 Package. Big, tough, and fast, the gull-winged Corsair was a formidable fighter against any opposition. It was the first navy fighter to exceed 400 mph in level flight. The Corsair's signature gull wing prevented its immense propeller from chewing up the deck while keeping the landing gear struts short enough not to buckle in rough carrier landings. FSX and FS2004 Douglas C-74 Globemaster I The C-74 was planned during World War 2 as a much bigger successor to the C-54 Skymaster. An airliner version was also planned, and PanAm actually ordered it as the 'DC-7'. After the war it became obvious that a better design could be made, so only 14 C-74 Globemasters were built. The airliner version was cancelled, and the military version was developed into the C-124 Globemaster II with a much larger fuselage. Nevertheless, the C-74s gave good service until retired in the mid 'fifties, a few of them continued in use as commercial cargo transports. By Jens B. Kristensen.

FSX Douglas DC-6 ver 2.0. This package includes the DC-6 in its earliest form with short nose (no weather radar) and round-tipped Curtiss Electric propellers as delivered to the first DC-6 customers in 1946-48. The later aircraft had the more well-known, square-tipped 'paddle' propellers, and this version is included as well. Most, if not all, of the early DC-6's were later modernized to this standard, and many (especially from the U.S. operators) had weather radar installed in a longer nose. This package contains most variants, including liveries for American, United, Delta, Panagra, SAS, Sabena and KLM, nine aircraft in all. The KLM repaint is by Maarten Brouwer. The increasing obsolescence of the M.S.406 led the Finnish Air Force to order, on 22 October 1942, the installation of a Klimov M-105P in an M.S.406 airframe. The M-105P engine, derived from the HS 12Y, afforded 1,100hp for take-off, the prototype conversion was flown on 4 February 1943 as the Mörkö (Ghost) or Mörkö-Moraani. Successful trials resulted in the decision to bring all surviving M.S.406 and M.S.410 fighters to Mörkö standard. Two versions included. GMAX model by A.F.Scrub

Kruse-Curtiss Flyer. This model was designed from pictures of my Great-Uncle Frank Kruse's plane combined with plans of other Curtiss planes of the time. I'm estimating that the plane was built in 1910 or 1911 from Curtiss plans published in 'Popular Mechanics'. The Curtiss museum is not aware of any Curtiss designs that used this style aileron, however the rest of the plane is obviously Curtiss. We don't know what Uncle Frank was thinking, maybe this style aileron was easier to rig. He flew the plane in the Chicago and central Illinois area and didn't die in the plane. Other than the pictures and my Grandmothers stories of some of Frank's other exploits not much is known of what became of his plane. And yes, that is Frank in the plane - at least the best I could do with the pictures available.
