Charlie Carter’s Special TBF-1 Avenger With this program you can
install all the needed stuff on your hard drive automatically. This
is my favorite TBF-1 Avenger with a very special new texture, a new
panel with GPS, autopilot and fuel dump, an original, heavy Avenger
sound, original weapons and special exhaust effects. This aircraft
is created to play in singleplayer games with much more fun ;-) Enjoy
and have fun. Charlie *Chuck* Carter. 10.2MB |

TBY-2 Seawolf.
Competing against the Grumman Corp. to provide a replacement for the
Douglas TBD Devastator torpedo plane for the U.S. Navy, the Vought
Sea Wolf was proved to be considerably superior to the TBF Avenger.
Like the Avenger, it had a long internal torpedo bay and a revolving
dorsal turret for a rear-facing gunner. Despite a U.S. Navy decision
to procure the type without delay, Vought was unable to produce enough
aircraft from its limited capacity. This led to a contract being awarded
to Consolidated Aircraft for 1,100 TBY-2 Sea Wolfs, though VJ-Day
cancellations resulted in only 180 examples being made. None of these
saw operational use, however. by: William N. Dickens. 1MB |

CW-21 Demon.
The CW-21 Demon was a lightweight fighter based on the CW-19R general-purpose
monoplane. It was intended primarily for export, with 32 being ordered
by China in 1939, and 24 improved versions being ordered by the Netherlands
East Indies in 1940. Being inadequately armed and with no worthwhile
protection for the pilot, the Demons were fair game for the Japanese
fighters they opposed. Three of the improved Demons (the CW-21B) were
sent to the American Volunteer Group in China, but all three were
lost on the flight from Rangoon to Kunming, when the entire group
crashed into a mountain during bad weather. (text from www.daveswarbirds.com)

William Dickens The CW-21B Demon was the improved version of the CW-21
Fighter ordered by the Netherlands East Indies in 1940. The CW-21B
had fully retractable main gear and a semi-retractable tail gear.
It faired poorly in combat against the Japanese. 678K |
