External View: This aircraft has one of the best-done models I have ever seen. It has been created in a way that makes the plane very realistic in appearance but manages to keep the frame rates acceptable. This GMAX model has movable parts that include flaps, retractable landing gear, rolling wheels and much more. The texturing on this plane has been done beautifully. Upon the surface of this model is the detailed rendering of an authentic Luftwaffe paint job, it is one of the best examples of a German texturing available on the internet today. By combining this fantastic model and its amazing texturing, one of the best add-on aircraft for CFS2/FS2002 has been created. It is by far the best German bomber on the internet and one of the best planes available to date.

Sounds: This plane uses the default sounds from the CFS2 P-38F Lightning. In my opinion, this is the only part of this plane that could have been improved. The sounds that are used come from another twin-engine plane of the same era and therefore sound similar. As a result, this does not detract from the aircraft.

Ground Handling: I found this plane was very easy to taxi. It does not accelerate quickly, so it is difficult to lose control. Turning was also very easy, even at relatively high speeds the plane would not tip. Overall, it was a nice plane to taxi.

Panel

The panel for this He111 finds a good balance between historical accuracy, necessary gauges, and forward pilot view. Basically, at a glance this panel contains all the gauges that are required to fly the aircraft and is accurate to the era with the types of gauges. The panel also gives the pilot a relatively good forward view with a clear field of vision. It also has nice appearance, especially the correctly placed machine gun in the nose (visible in the lower right corner of the panel). The DVC (Dynamic Virtual Cockpit) provides a great alternative to the normal 2D panel and manages to retain all the positive points of the normal panel. Overall, the panel in this aircraft is very good.

Where Tested: Honolulu, Hawaii in FS2002 Guam in CFS2

Landing Characteristics & Speed on final approach: The He111 was not a difficult plane to land. Since its maneuvering capabilities are limited, I found a long approach with a gradual decline in altitude the most effective way to bring it down. While landing, full flaps and a speed of about 90 knots worked the best for an easy touchdown.

Takeoff Characteristics & approx Speed: Takeoff occurred at about 80 knots with flaps extended approximately 50%. While it was accelerating down the runway, I found the tail would begin to lift off the ground at about 75 knots and it easily left the ground at a speed of 80.

Notes: This plane also comes with a nice weapons package with multiple payloads. It was originally designed to be flown in the KG26 campaign also by the Ground Crew Design Group.

Rating = 99%

Other Remarks: This plane is a lot of fun to fly. I would highly recommend it. It works in both CFS2 and FS2002 but if you are going to use it in FS2002, it needs a sound file (because the sound file is a CFS2 default). In both games, it's a real pleasure to fly!
