New US Torpedo
New US Torpedo
0.08Mb (2132 downloads)
This is an original model of the US Mark XIII aerial torpedo with the improved performance achieved by field modifications during the war. Early in the war the Mk13 could only be dropped from altitudes of 50 feet or below and speeds of under 110 kts (as in CFS2). The field mods added plywood casings to the nose and tailfins that broke away on entry to the water and protected the torpedo from breaking up. This torpedo can be dropped effectively from the same altitudes and speeds as the Japanese Type 91 (~150'/~150kts). The MK_XIII_Torp can simply be substituted for the standard Mk13 in the DP of the stock TBF. In other aircraft it may require a small adjustment to the mounting point. To install simply place all of the files from the download into the corresponding folders/subfolders of your CFS2 install. This is freeware, but must not be uploaded to other sites or modified without permission. Enjoy.

A-1H Skyraider
A-1H Skyraider
3.13Mb (2267 downloads)
The Douglas AD-2 Skyraider went into service in 1946 and served in the Korean War. She continued with the Navy, Marines and Air Force through Viet Nam into the mid 1970s. She was known as Skyraider, but more frequently referred to a Able Dog and SPAD, an acronym for Special Purpose Attack Douglas or Special Purpose Able Dog. SPAD is also a reference to such an aged prop job still flying in the age of jets. And she took down at least one MiG fighter in a gun duel over Viet Nam. This model in it's original simplified form first appeared in the Fox Four Red Star campaign as an AI. She was created by FangVV, Hayden Scott-Williams, AIR/CFG by Indio Black, Mike Eustace, DP by myself. I have upgraded/updated the source file to player level. Textures are by Sopwith Chameleon, James Peach. http://sopwithc.wetpaint.com The skin represents an aircraft of the Special Operations Wing flying out of Da Nang during the VN conflict. The model is multi-LOD. She carries a complex panel by Mike Eustace...be sure to read the Panel Instrucitons, and has a rudimentary DVC. Her weapons are by Bbolt and Martin Wright. Installation: Simply place all of the files contained in the folders/subfolders of the download into the corresponding folders/subfolders of your CFS2 main directory. This is freeware, but must not be uploaded to any other site or modified without permission.

Grushin MAI3
2.66Mb (831 downloads)
Grushin MAI3 for CFS2 by: W. Dickens, Peperez, Kelticheart et al. Born in 1906, Grushin worked on various aircraft at MAI. In 1935 he began scheming a tandem-wing aircraft, thinking this could form the basis of an attack aircraft with a rear gun turret. The single example of the Sh-Tandem (Shturmovik-Tandem) was constructed in the Institute's production training school. It was exhaustively tested by P M Stefanovskii from 5th December 1937. The key feature of this aircraft was that it had a main wing and a rear wing with 45 per cent as much area. Vol avec Arielle, la Guerrière du Ciel
8.80Mb (430 downloads)
I met this fantastic lady, Cloud9gal, who was quite enthusiastic about translating the CFS2 radio calls into French. I thought, "You know, it would be a welcome change to hear a woman's voice barking out those commands." And so, the character of Arielle, the Sky Warrior was born. These files contain the rough French translations of CFS2 gvr files one through seven, similar to the British and German files previously made by Franz von Baron. They will provide you with a distinctively feminine French atmosphere without having to add files via the mission builder. Please pay your proper respects to Cloud9gal in the forum, as well as Franz von Baron for his ground-breaking work, and Martin Wright for his SplitGVR program.
