FS2000 Curtiss June Bug. Curtiss Arodrome number 3 or "June Bug" as it was christened, first flew in 1908 and between 21 June and 31 August of that year, succeeded in making more than 30 take-offs, mainly in the hands of Glenn Curtiss and McCurdy. Curtiss was awarded the Scientific American Journal's prize for the first officially recognised flight of over 1km on 4th July 1908 in this aircraft. The flight took 1 minute 42.5 seconds. BT-13 Valiant. The "Valiant" was the basic trainer most widely used by the USAAF during WW II. It represented the second of the three stages of pilot training--primary, basic and advanced. Compared with the primary trainers in use at the time, it was considerably more complex. The BT-13 not only had a more powerful engine, it was also faster and heavier. In addition, it required the student pilot to use two-way radio communications with the ground, operate landing flaps and a two-position variable pitch propeller. Features include completely animated model with 11 textures, 16 sided fuselage, 3D intake, several texture transparencies, virtual cockpit, accurate sound set addapted from the corsair sound set by Aaron R. FS2000 North American P-51D-15-NA Mustang, 44-14888 "Glamorous Glen III", flown by Captain Charles "Chuck" Yeager, 363rd Fighter Squadron, 357th Fighter Group, November 1944. Includes moving parts and night time textures for the virtual cockpit. Flight model contains a true FS2000 .air file. Engine starts and shut downs work. Sliding canopy activates when gear retracts. Detailed cockpit can be viewed from spot plane view. Pilot's head turns left and right with rudder movement. This is a fully functional demo model and will be part of a forthcoming commercial release by Blue Arrow. FS2000 sound set is a FlightSim.Com FS2000 Gold Seal Approved sound set. This plane is immortalized in the great book, "The Cannibal Queen, An Aerial Odyssey Across America" by Pocket Books.
