4 March - 15 August 1945. VBF-83 replaced the 2 Marine squadrons VMF-124
and VMF-213 which began the F4U's operational shipboard legacy aboard

Grumman F8F-2 Bearcat Damage Point file modified
by Stefano Denti (kelticheart) to fit third party ordnance and droptanks.
Besides, modified gun specs from 4 x .50" guns to 4 x 20 mm. cannons
and rocket firing sequence to fire rockets in pairs instead of a whole

June - August 1945. VBF-88 took 37 F4U-1Ds to war in the last 2 months

This aircraft represents an F4U-1D of VBF-84 aboard USS Bunker Hill
CV-17 16 Feb - 11 May 1945. Led by former VF-17 Jolly Roger XO LCDR
Roger Hedrick, and with 4 other frmer Jolly Rogers VF-84 and the two
Marine F4U squadrons VMF-221 and VMF-451 brought the F4U strength
on Bunker Hill to 71 Corsairs strong. The corsairs of Air Group 84
did a lot of damage to Japanese forces until Bunker Hill was hit by

This aircraft represents an F4U-1D of VBF-86 aboard USS Wasp CV-18
4 March - 15 August 1945. VBF-86 replaced 2 Marine squadrons VMF-216
and VMF-217 in F4U's shipboard operations aboard Wasp. Due to a bomb
hit on Wasp on 19 March which forced her to return to Ulithi for repairs,
VBF-86 only participated in the last 6 weeks of the conflict. Joe

This aircraft represents an F4U-1D of VBF-10 aboard USS Intrepid CV-11
18 March - 16 April 1945. VBF-10 shared the history with her sister
squadron VF-10 from which they had been spit off from to increase

F4U-1C of Navy Squadron VF-85. Default Textures only.
This aircraft represents an F4U-1C of VF-85 aboard USS Shangri La
CV-38 in May and June 1945. VF-85 was designated as the "fighter"
unit aboard Shangri La, and operated alongside their "fighter bomber"
sister squadron VBF-85 which was equipped with F4U-1D corsairs. VF-85's
role was intended to be CAP, escort, interception and otherwise fleet
defense work due to the 20mm cannon that the F4U-1C sported. Joe Royal.

in Portugal.from WW2 up until now the squadron has been renamed several
times and this is its current squadron name. in the zipfile contains
an Aircraft CFG, an .Air file (to make the AI P39D Player flyable),
