CFS2 AVG P-40 Flying Tiger (AVG is an abbreviation for 'American Volunteer Group') This is a repaint of Krzysztof Malinowski's P-40E as an AVG Flying Tiger. It is historically accurate in the paint scheme. Although Maj. Claire L. Chennault began the squadrons with the P-40B, the 14th AVG later evolved into the 23rd fighter group, which did fly the E model. This Hellcat served with the United States Navy aboard the Independence Class Light Carrier, USS Princeton (CV-23). This is how the aircraft appeared in mid-1944. The Princeton was commissioned on February 25, 1943 and scuttled on October 24, 1944 after the Battle of Leyte Gulf. By Daniel Leahy. 780K
