5.30Mb (3459 downloads)
FS2004 AeroDesigns Airbus A318-111 CFM United Airlines Old Colors. The fourth member of the Airbus A320 family, the A318-111 is 2.4 meters shorter than the A319, yet sports a taller tail. The A318 also differs in that it has a modified wing shape and a smaller cargo door. Besides these and other smaller details, the A318 still retains much commonality with the rest of the Airbus A320 family, including, but not limited to, the advanced flightdeck with side stick controllers, fly-by-wire flight controls allowing for a common type rating, and the same six abreast cabin layout. The first flight was made on January 15, 2002 from Hamburg-Finkenwerder. Model by Derek Mayer and Aviel Nahoum. Textures by Derek Mayer, Aviel Nahoum, Dario Carbone, Michael Lüdkte. FDE based on Pedro Oliveira's Airbus A320. United Airlines OC Paint by Dirk Kiefer. 5.4MB

Antonov An-72 in Antonov Airlines Colors
3.13Mb (5646 downloads)
FS2004 Antonov An-72 in Antonov Airlines Colors The Antonov An-72 "Coaler" was designed as a Short TakeOff and Landing (STOL) aircraft which can operate from unprepared airfields. The An-72 originated as An-32, but was later fitted with jet engines. The first prototype flew on 22 December 1977, and the aircraft entered service in 1979. The wings are high-mounted with two turbofans located in long pods mounted on top. Round air intakes extend from the front of the wings' leading edges. The engines were placed on the leading edge of the wings to increase lift for STOL capability, with the jet exhausts blowing over titanium panels on the upper surface. The engine position also gives good Foreign Object Damage (FOD) protection. The fuselage is circular with round, solid nose, upswept rear section, and a flush cockpit. The rear fuselage has a hinged loading ramp with a rear fairing that slides backwards and up to clear the opening. Up to 7.5 tons can be airdropped, and there are folding side seats for 42 fully-equipped paratroops or 52 passengers.
