FS2004 Sikorsky S-42 "Brazilian Clipper" NC-822M Sikorsky 4-engine flying boat flown by Pan American Airways 1934-1944. Used in Caribbean and South America, carrying up to 32 passengers and 5 crew. Range 1200 miles at cruising speed of 150 mph. At the time it was the largest plane built in the United States. NC-822M was first of 10 S-42s delivered to Pan Am. FSDS3.5 model with virtual cockpit, passenger compartment, custom XML gauges including prop synchronizer. Animated fore and aft hatches. Model based on Sikorsky documents from New England Air Museum and photos from U. of Miami library. A flying boat, not an amphibian. No true landing gear, but beaching gear provided. In the late 1970's and through the 1980's the MD_83 served as the backbone of Shamrock's long distance routes until they were phased out in the early 90's in favor of the Boeing 737. Some of these planes are still in service however; serving some of the line's smaller hubs. These textures are for use with the default MD-83.

Douglas A-3 Skywarrior The A-3B Skywarrior was the largest carrier-based aircraft of its time, designed to operate from the Forrestal-class supercarriers. Intended as a strategic attack aircraft, the Skywarrior was designed for long range, with a thin, high-aspect ratio wing. Recon, ECM, and tanker versions were also built, with the EKA-3B combination ECM / tanker remaining in service up to the time of the first Gulf War.
