Seafang was the end of the Spitfire/Seafire line, it has been aptly described as, “A Spitfire too far.”This particular aircraft, Seafang FR 32, VB895, was flown by noted test pilot Mike Lithgow in May 1947 during deck landing trials on HMS Illustrious. FSX Douglas DC-6 Package (early version). This is a new model of the DC-6 in its earliest form, with short nose (no weather radar), round-tipped Curtiss Electric propellers and Pioneer PB-10 autopilot. These aircraft were delivered to the first DC-6 customers in 1946-48. Later aircraft had the more well-known, square-tipped 'paddle' propellers and more powerful engines. Most, if not all, of the early DC-6's were later modernized to this standard, and many (especially from the U.S. operators) had weather radar installed in a longer nose. This package contains models & liveries for American, United, and Delta Airlines in the U.S domestic configuration, as well as SAS and Sabena in the overwater version with 5-man crew, astrodome for navigation etc. Includes virtual cockpit.
