FSX Douglas VC-118-DO 'The Independence'Textures only. This Douglas VC-118-DO was the personal aircraft of President Harry S. Truman. It was named 'The Independence' after President Truman's home town in Missouri. The aircraft was delivered on 1 July 1947 and served from 4 July 1947 on as a presidential aircraft till 1953 when Gen. Dwight Eisenhower became President of the USA. It seems that the rather special paint job was based on an idea by President Truman himself. 46-0505 served on as a general VIP transport till 1966 when it was donated to the Smithonian Institute for preservation. It is on loan to the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.'The Independence' could accommodate for 24 day or 12 sleeper passengers (in the main cabin). It had a luxurious State Room aft of the passenger door. Usually there was a crew of eight. It is featured here in its original tan, blue and metal livery. You will require Jens B. Kristensen's great FSX Douglas DC-6 (early version) (dc6_v20x.zip). Original textures by Jens B. Kristensen. Repaint by Maarten Brouwer.

FSX KLM Douglas DC-6 Textures only. Having been an operator of the Douglas DC-2, DC-3, DC-4 and DC-5, it seemed only logical that KLM (celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2009) purchased the DC-6 for its long-haul routes. Seemed, because KLM already operated the Lockheed L-049 Constellation, the DC-6's competitor. Nevertheless, Connie and DC-6 marched on together quite well. Enclosed in this package are five repaints of DC-6's during several stages in their life with KLM. The 1957 livery of PH-DPP was an interim-livery (see the 'old fashioned' white lettering and the early-fifties style cowlings). The 1962 livery of PJ-DPI seems to have been an attempt to fit into the new house style of KLM without having to respray the fuselage, as the DC-6 reached the end of its KLM carreer anyway. These are textures only. You will require Jens B. Kristensen's FSX Douglas DC-6 (dc6_v20x.zip). Original textures by Jens B. Kristensen. Repaints by Maarten Brouwer.

Fs2004/FSX Spitfire MK V B Tropical. The Mk VB(trop) (or type 352) could be identified by the large Vokes air filter fitted under the nose; the reduced speed of the air to the supercharger had a detrimental effect on the performance of the aircraft, but the decreased performance was considered acceptable. Many were sent overseas, with the majority of them being used either in North Africa and the Mediterranean or in the Far East.rnTotal production was 6,487. These are Austrian Air Force textures for the excellent Fiat G-46 (FS2004 and FSX models available) by I. D'Attomo and G. Quai. In 1957 the newly founded Austrian airforce received five aircraft of this type as a present from Italy. They were mainly used as trainers for formation flight, first at Zeltweg AFB, then at Linz Hoersching until 1963. This particular aircraft was on exhibition at Zeltweg airport's celebration of "50 years of Austrian Air Force" in 2005. By Roman E. Krauss.

FS2004/FSX Lagg-3 WW2 Fighter The Lagg-3 came close to its rival Bf-109F in performance and was superior in manoeuvrability. In combat, LaGG-3's main advantage was its strong airframe. Although the laminated wood did not burn it shattered severely when hit by high explosive rounds. The LaGG-3 was, however, a capable design in its own right and well-liked by its pilots and ground crew alike. Production of the LaGG-3 was completed in the late summer of 1942 with a total of 6,528 built. Two versions included. Original CFS2 model by Thicko, upgraded to FS2004/FSX by A.F.Scrub
