Update of the Convair 580
Update of the Convair 580
Update of the Convair 580 (Category: FSX > Props)
32.88Mb (3 downloads)
This is an update for FSX of the C-580 conversion by Bjoern Kesten of the model by Greg Pepper. I have given it a new 2D panel background from a picture of the VC; I had to change some of the gauges because the original background contained the background for those gauges; I added a HUD to the 2D panel; corrected any contact points that needed correction; gave it almost a full load of fuel instead of the near half load it had; and I updated the flight dynamics. This is only the passenger model.

Here is a repaint of the revised Star Alliance livery of Air India for registrations VT-CIN and VT-EXO. With the retrofitting of Air India’s legacy A320neos, the aircraft have also been repainted in the new livery. VT-EXO, the only A320neo in Star Alliance colors, received the revised scheme in October 2025, which includes white sharklets, a non-wavy Indian flag repositioned further aft, small 'Airbus A320neo' titles towards the aft fuselage, and Air India titles in the airline’s new font. VT-CIN was also repainted into the Star Alliance livery around the same time. Textures only. Requires the full model Project Airbus A320 with the NEO CFM engine mod by Bret Herman.

DC-842B was built in 1993 and registered N30220 for Midway Connection. In 1994, N30220 was sold to Tamair in Australia and became VH-NEO, serving with them until 1998. VH-NEO then went to FSAir as N510FS, before going to Amazonas in 2002, as CP2473. The aircraft was written off in a landing accident on February 27th 2011, at La Paz-El Alto. Painted onto Jon Murchison’s excellent Fairchild Metro 3, this shows VH-NEO in service with Tamair.

FSX/FS2004 Pilotable French WW2 Heavy Destroyer Aigle
10.93Mb (40 downloads)
FSX/FS2004 Pilotable WW2 Destroyer Aigle (Eagle). It was a large and heavy armed French destroyer with a length of 128.5 m and armed withfive 13.86 cm turrets. With 64.000 PS it reached 36 knots. Six vessels of this class were built and five went lost during WWII. My model is very detailed and offers some specials: Guns, rangefinder, depth charges and torpedos to port and starboard are animated. In FSX twenty four camera views provide decks- and nav bridge views. Additionally there is an AI-version included. FSDS-model, animations and cameras by Erwin Welker.

FSX/FS2004 Messerschmitt P.1112 V1 Concept Jet Fighter
8.78Mb (92 downloads)
FSX/FS2004 Messerschmitt P.1112 V1 concept jet fighter. In 1945 Germany worked on a secret project. A small high tech interceptor with a turbojet engine, proposed for a speed of 1100 kmh, almost supersonic. The narrow fuselage would force the pilot a nearly lying position on his eject seat. In fact, at the end of WW2 the planning was almost completed but there was only a wooden dummy found by the U.S. Army at the barracks in Oberammergau/Bavaria. Its design, however, had a direct influence on postwar US Navy carrier fighters. FSDS-model by Erwin Welker.

Phonix D.I Kriegsmarine
Phonix D.I Kriegsmarine (Category: CFS2 > Aircraft)
6.03Mb (15 downloads)
Phönix D.I Kriegsmarine The Phönix D.I biplane was intended as a replacement for the Hansa-Brandenburg D. I. It was produced in smaller numbers (120 D. I, 45 D. II, and 48 D. IIa fighters) than the Hansa-Brandenburg. The Phönix D.I began production in August 1917 and the D.II replaced the D.I in production in March 1918 . The Phönix D-series fighters are generally considered the best fighters designed and produced in Austria-Hungary. Previously, the Phönix Flugzeug-Werke firm had been contracted to produce the Hansa-Brandenburg D.I fighter under license. It became apparent by 1917 that the infamous Star-strutter could not be developed further, and the company embarked on a new aircraft. The design eventually incorporated a fuselage similar to the D.I and also sported wings of unequal span that ended in rounded wingtips. It was also considerably more powerful, with a Hiero 200- horsepower engine. It located the machine guns within the engine cowling which enhanced streamlining but placed the guns beyond the pilot’s reach if they jammed. The resulting craft was faster in level flight but somewhat unstable and slow-climbing. In December 1917 it entered service as the Phönix D.I and was deployed with army and navy units. The new machine was far from perfect, but it represented a dramatic improvement over the earlier Star-strutter, proving to be a match for Allied fighters. Austro-Hungarian Kriegsmarine pilots flew the Phönix D.I and D.IIa fighters to defend the naval bases at Pola and Cattaro against Italian bomber attacks. Navy Phönix fighters numbered J.1 to J.8 were taken from Army production between October 1917 and November 1917. Another twelve D.I fighters numbered J.9 to J.20 were ordered directly from Phönix and delivered between December 1917 and March 1918. The model, textures. panel and air files are by Captain Kurt. The pilot figures were developed from Wolfi's freeware Japanese pilot .fsc source file. The prop spinning texture is by Kelticheart. Gauges are by Martin Klein with texture change outs by Captain Kurt, .

Kawanishi N1K2-Ja Shiden Kai
Kawanishi N1K2-Ja Shiden Kai (Category: CFS2 > Aircraft)
3.98Mb (1 downloads)
Unit: Yokosuka Kokutai, Yokosuka Airfield, Japan April 1945 Pilot: unknown The N1K2-Ja Shiden Kai (Japanese for "Violet Lightning") was the best fighter used in significant numbers by the Japanese Navy during World War II. Known by the Allies as the "George," this maneuverable, heavily-armed fighter was a formidable opponent in the closing months of the war. The Shiden Kai was considerably better than the Japanese Navy's most common fighter, the A6M Zero. With a top speed of 369 mph, the N1K2a was about 20 mph faster than the A6M Zero. It had CO2 fire suppression systems in the fuel tanks so it did not burn easily like other Japanese fighters did. The N1K2-Ja was a further development of the N1K2-J, which incorporated 4 bomb shackles in the wing and a reduced horizontal tail span. The heavier Shiden Kai also possessed surprisingly good maneuverability due to a mercury switch that automatically extended the flaps during turns. These "combat" flaps created more lift, thereby allowing tighter turns. Moreover, its four 20 mm automatic cannon provided greatly increased firepower than earlier Japanese designs. Unlike the A6M Zero, the Shiden Kai could compete against the best late-war U.S. Navy and U.S. Army Air Forces fighters. It first entered combat early in 1945, and over 400 were produced before the war ended (200 of the N1K2-J and 200 of the N1K2-Ja).
